Intergenerational Forest School

‘Great Oaks and Little Acorns’

Our ‘Great Oaks & Little Acorns’ project aims to reduce loneliness and isolation for young families and elderly neighbours by inviting them to the woods for a relaxed, playful session filled with tea, campfires, music and laughter. Every session starts with lunch around the camp followed by games and activities appropriate for all ages.

This amazing collaboration is managed in partnership with Bee in the Woods Forest School who expertly deliver the food and activities. It is a privilege to continue to work with Lucy and Simone from Bee in the Woods on this collaboration.

Thanks to funding from the Brighton Pride Fund, Bee in the Woods Forest School can deliver this project and provide transport for our scheme members aka the ‘Great Oaks’. Most of the people attending are unable to get out without transport and one to one support which the TTTB team are pleased to provide.

‘Spring in to Sound’

In 2018 we joined forces with with Brighton based music duo Unite the Beat and Bee in the Woods Forest School to celebrate generations coming together to play, explore and create music in the wild outdoors. Our ‘Spring into Sound’ project sought to reduce loneliness and isolation for our elderly neighbors by inviting them to join pre-school children in the woods for a relaxed, playful session filled with tea, campfires, music and laughter.

Here are a few photographs showing how our ‘Great Oaks’ came together with ‘Little Acorns’ in the forest!
