Volunteering

To volunteer as an Anna Friend at Time to Talk Befriending you will be signing up to visit an older person every week or fortnight in the community. The match between our scheme members and Anna Friends is very much based on interests. Location also plays a part in the matching process. Anna Chaplaincy at Time to Talk Befriending is managed by Julie Williams who organises the day to day running of the project. She is responsible for inspiring, training and supervising Anna friends who are volunteering their time to provide a menu of prayer, spiritual reflection, devotional studies, worshipful music, Holy Communion and support to access places of Worship.

Training involves attendance at our befriending induction session. This usually takes place over 3 hours in an evening. Sessions are scheduled every 4-6 weeks and are based at our office in Hove. In addition, specialist Anna Friends training will be delivered by Julie Williams. This training takes 2 hours and will be arranged with you on a day and time to suit, once the recruitment process has been undertaken.
