Best practice and barriers: diversity and inclusion

Dementia Action Week 2021

This one hour Zoom session will be in two parts. Hosted by Time to Talk Befriending, guest speaker Jazz Brown from Nubian Life will share her insights and experiences of delivering successful community initiatives for the African Caribbean and Asian population of Hammersmith and Fulham.

We will also hear from Dr Shadreck Mwale  (Senior Research Fellow at Brighton and Sussex Medical School) who is developing research on diversity and inclusion in social care. Shadreck and Jazz are motivated to ensure that people from all cultures who are living with dementia have equal access to services and is keen to undertake research to explore barriers to inclusion. A conversation will be hosted to learn from participants about their experiences of working or living in the Sussex community. The outcome of these conversations will be helpful for developing appropriate research on understanding issues related to diversity and inclusion. Those in attendance who are passionate about this issue will also be invited to connect with Shadreck beyond the event.

To book please email info@tttb.org.uk by Friday 14th May at midday. Zoom details will be shared once bookings are closed.
